CREST HEALTHY SMILES 2010 AND LOMA LINDA DENTAL SCHOOL GIVE KIDS A SMILE ON FEBRUARY 6th

NEW YORK, February 6, 2004 — As part of their continuing commitment to provide oral care access and education, Crest Healthy Smiles 2010 (CHS 2010) and the Loma Linda School of Dentistry will provide free dental screenings and oral health education from their Mobile Dental Van on Friday, February 6th at the Boys & Girls Club (B&GC) of San Bernardino (for B&GC members only). This combined effort is part of the American Dental Association’s national “Give Kids A Smile” campaign to provide charitable services to children from low-income families who don’t have adequate access to oral health care.

“There is a great need for oral care access and education among children in our community, said Ronald Forde, DDS of Loma Linda School of Dentistry. “’Give Kids a Smile Day’ provides us with a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of this city’s children and to provide them with care and education that will put them on the path to good oral health.”

The free services will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of San Bernardino located at 1180 West 9th Street in San Bernardino (services are available to club members only, it is not open to the public). In addition to free screenings and oral health education, children will receive free Crest oral care products and educational materials.

“Through “Give Kids a Smile Day” and our partnership with the Loma Linda School of Dentistry we will be able to further the Crest Healthy Smiles 2010 goal of improving the oral hygiene of children in the San Bernardino area with the treatment and education they need to create and maintain healthy smiles for life,” said Diane Dietz, marketing director for Crest.

The ADA created “Give Kids A Smile Day” to provide dental services to thousands of low-income children across the country who otherwise wouldn't receive care and to draw attention to the chronic degree of untreated dental disease in the nation's children. Over 34,000 dentists and dental team members at more than 2,000 sites across the country will take time from their practice to help underserved children who aren’t getting the oral health care they need.
